ASA Filament
6 products
ASA filament is UV and weather resistant, making it ideal for outdoor use. The properties of ASA are comparable to those of ABS. Only ASA is a lot easier to print.
What is ASA Filament?
ASA, or acrylonitrile styrene acrylate, is a thermoplastic that combines mechanical strength, UV resistance and water resistance. It also has high dimensional stability and good chemical resistance, making it ideal for prototyping, outdoor applications and the automotive industry.
Advantages ASA:
- Strong UV resistance
- High wear and impact resistance
- High glass transition temperature
Disadvantages ASA:
- Exceptional ventilation due to potentially hazardous fumes
- High cost
- High extruder temperature
Applications for ASA filament:
- Share car exterior
- Outdoor components, including housing components
- Sporting goods
- Exterior Signage
ASA filament 3D printing
The following tips will help reduce common ASA printing problems:
- Provide a good building surface.
- Adjust the temperature and cooling settings to avoid overheating.
- Set the cooling fan to a low speed.
More ASA filament printing tips
The printing result with ASA filament is best when the filament does not cool down too quickly. That is why it is wise to set the fan very low, 0-25%. The use of a heated print bed at approximately 80 to 90°C is recommended. Together with a print temperature of 235-255°C. Of course this can differ per 3D printer.
A good print result starts with good 3D printer filament. That is why we only sell ASA filament that we have tested ourselves. Such as ApolloX ASA from FormFutura and Innofil3D ASA. AppoloX is also available in many different colors. Thanks to these high-quality filaments, you will achieve good printing results time after time. This saves you time and money. ASA filament is ideal for outdoor use. Thanks to the UV and weather resistance. It is also highly resistant to chemicals. ASA filament is more powerful than ABS with more printing convenience.
ASA is ideally suited for prototyping, making tools or objects for outdoor/daily use.
