The MakerBot Tough Precision Model Material was developed specifically for the MakerBot Method 3D printer. Precision Tough material is a thermoplastic filament designed for consistent, strong and dimensionally stable 3D printed prototypes and fixtures. With up to twice the impact strength of ABS and similar tensile and flexural strength properties, MakerBot Tough Material offers high durability and strength.
MakerBot Method materials are manufactured to exact diameter and quality specifications and shipped in a vacuum-sealed Mylar bag to maintain quality until opened. Filament located on the Smart Spool™ provides information such as material type, color and remaining quantity directly to MakerBot Print via an RFID chip. Each spool also contains a desiccant to ensure low moisture content in the drawer.
