Description
Resilient high performance polymer from BASF
Ultrafuse PPSU (Polyphenylsulfone) has been specially developed for FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) printing based on the advanced Ultrason materials from BASF. The Ultrason resins are amorphous thermoplastics made of polyethersulphone (PESU), polysulphone (PSU) and polyphenylsulphone (PPSU) and guarantee a very high thermal resistance. With its wide range of material performance advantages, Ultrafuse PPSU can be successfully used in applications where other plastics, such as polyamide, polycarbonate, polyoxymethylene and polyalkylene terephthalate, fail to meet the performance requirements. With its inherent flame retardant properties, it is a particularly suitable material for the aerospace industry.
Applications for BASF Ultrafuse PPSU filament
Since the material requires a high temperature printer, BASF Ultrafuse PPSU is mainly used in industry. PPSU is suitable for the production of fittings, pipes, but also brackets and devices. The plastic can be used for a wide variety of technical applications that require chemical resistance and water resistance with simultaneous temperature resistance and impact resistance.
