Description
Evonik INFINAM® PEEK 9359
The Evonik PEEK filament is specifically designed for use with extrusion-based 3D printing technology, such as FFF or FDM. The filament is carefully manufactured to ensure consistent diameter and excellent print quality, allowing for precise and reliable printing results.
One of the unique benefits of PEEK filament is its high temperature resistance, making it suitable for printing parts that need to withstand extreme heat. With a glass transition temperature of a152°C, PEEK can withstand long term temperatures up to 250°C or short term temperature up to 300°C, allowing for the creation of parts that can be used in harsh environments.
In addition to its high temperature resistance, PEEK filament is also highly resistant to most organic and inorganic chemicals and only dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid and nitric acid, making it a great choice for applications that involve exposure to corrosive substances. Its excellent wear resistance also makes it ideal for use in high-stress applications.
Unique Properties:
Fused filament fabrication (FFF) of high-temperature, aerospace-grade thermoplastics like PEEK has made significant progress in recent years and has become an established process for 3D-printing of complex parts. 3D printed parts made of PEEK exhibit outstanding properties like:
- Excellent performance in heat resistance and chemical resistance
- Good warpage resistance
- Inherently flame retardant with low smoke and toxicity
- Resistant to gamma radiation, 250C steam and hydrolysis
- Excellent wave transmission performance like metal
Applications:
The Evonik PEEK filament provides an unique crystallization which gives significantly improved adhesion between layers in the vertical direction. Compared to 3D printed stainless-steel parts, PEEK-based 3D printed objects are 80% lighter in weight and 30% tougher with excellent fatigue resistance making applicable as substitution to 3D printing metal. Due to superior wear resistance and low sliding friction of PEEK lightweight structural parts can be manufactured easily.
